Rummy
Rummy is the favorite of most card game players. Easy-to-understand rules and fast-speed gameplay make the game a top choice among other card games. Playing a card game online without the need for a fellow is the biggest flex of the Rummy game.
If you're seasoned in Rummy, you can start to play directly, no login required. And the controls are intuitive drag and release mechanics.
If you're new to Rummy, no worries! We'll explain the rules as simply as possible so as not to wreck your brain (we know learning card game rules is kind of torture sometimes). But first, let's get you acquainted with the controls.
Controls
- Drag a card with your mouse to move it.
- Release to place the card.
How to Play Rummy?
- Players use a standard 54-card deck, including 2 jokers. You'll be dealt 13 cards at first.
- At each turn, you'll draw cards from the face-down deck or discard pile.
- At the end of your turn, discard a card (pick from the ones that you think you'll not use later).
- Your aim is to create as many melds as possible. But what is a meld in Rummy?
- Melds: A meld is a combination of 3 or more cards. Examples include:
- Sequence (A♠️,2♠️,3♠️): Three cards in a row of the same suit.
- Set (A♣️,A♦️,A♥️): Three cards of the same rank but of different suits.
- Jokers: Act as wild cards and can replace any card within a meld.
- You can place your melds on the table and add to existing melds, including those of other players.
- Laying off cards practically means turning cards into scores.
- Round Win: You will win the round when you discard your last card.
- Game Win: Accumulate 500 points across all rounds, and you'll win the game.
It's as simple as that. You can also find a tutorial in the game to see the rules in practice. Next, we'll explain how the score is calculated.
Game Score
Points are calculated based on the total score of melded cards minus the points for the remaining cards in hand. Each card has a distinct score in Rummy. So, try to discard or meld the cards with high score values first.
- Aces: 15 points
- Jokers: 15 points
- Face Cards: 10 points
- 2-9: Face Value
Game Modes
This Rummy game has 3 distinct game modes:
- 2 Player: Classic game against an AI opponent.
